For more than 20 years, Elena worked at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. In parallel, she continued her scientific activity — Elena defended her dissertation on the topic "English book illustration of the mid-18th century", received a PhD in art history and became an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts. In 2001, Elena was appointed director of the Moscow Kremlin Museum, where she still works today.

Galina, unlike her sister, was not interested in the humanities. From her father, she inherited the desire for accuracy and discipline, so she chose an economic education for herself. Galina graduated from the Plekhanov Institute of National Economy, received a doctorate and became a professor. Now she is the head of the department at the same university.

Galina has a family: husband Konstantin Kondratchik and son Yuri. The husband is a medical doctor, since 2014 he has been managing the hematology center of the Morozov Hospital.
