The man narrowly escaped a prison sentence. He built an extension with a bar, a gym, a casino and a cinema, with an area of 930 square meters, without receiving official permission for this. This made the neighbors very angry. The court decided to demolish the building, and the millionaire barely managed to avoid prison.
A British man who illegally built another house in the garden has narrowly avoided prison. Millionaire Graham Wildin from Sinderford has placed a bowling alley, a cinema, a squash court, a bar and a casino in the annex.
The 68-year-old pensioner seriously angered the neighbors. They found out that Graham had built an extension without official permission and began to demand that the building be demolished. But the millionaire decided not to give up and entered into a legal fight, reaching the Supreme Court.
The judge gave the Briton until the end of April 2020 to demolish the extension with an area of 930 square meters, because the home entertainment complex interfered with the comfortable life of neighbors.
However, the controversial building is still in place. Graham Wildin recently appeared in court again, where he said that he could not comply with the official decision for several reasons. The man claimed that he had no way to find contractors and no money to demolish the extension. The millionaire was accused of contempt of court due to the fact that he did not liquidate entertainment complexes from the building, did not take it out of operation and in four more points.
The judge determined the penalty for the pensioner-imprisonment for six weeks, postponing the execution of the sentence for a year, provided that the accused removes all sports equipment, a cinema, a bowling alley, doors, lighting, radiators, plumbing and furniture from the annex, as well as turns off electricity and water supply for 18 weeks.
Rich people like to build buildings that impress and surprise. American Tony Wells built a mystical castle dedicated to Satan in the city of Rosarito in Mexico, and now conducts excursions in it.
