By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/in-limbo-french-artist-lives-in-ghost-rooms.htmlModern art takes on very unexpected forms. French artist Thierry Mandon hangs in time and space on the walls of abandoned buildings in unusual productions. It's like he lives a real life in ghost rooms, surprising passers-by.
Artist Thierry Mandon balances between the past, present and future in the art project "Inside - Out" ("Inside – outside"). It depicts life outside old buildings. For his project, the artist chooses not exactly ruins, but dilapidated houses, in which one part of the walls is still standing, and part is already falling apart.
In the "ghost rooms" you can see the shadow of the grandmother's mirror and the trace of the English chest of drawers printed on paper wallpaper, faded under the sun. In the composition "Tableau Vivant" ("Tableau Vivant"), the artist is hanging at the dining table, with a book and a glass of wine in his hands.
Mandon implements these staged works right in front of passers-by, and then presents videos and photos.
The French artist says that he is in constant search of a "poetic view of the world." His productions give the impression that time has stopped and space does not exist.
Thierry likes to follow the reaction of the audience. Passers-by are surprised by the author's productions, doubting whether what they see is real. Such situations make them think about artistic representation.
Naturally, the question arises how the artist climbs to such a height, and how he subsequently descends. What if he falls asleep, falls out of bed on the sidewalk and breaks himself? Thierry says that this is the main theme of his work - to show that you need to live your life, even if balancing on the edge.
Meanwhile, an Austrian cartoonist exposes the problems of society in overly honest illustrations. He draws satirical drawings that expose the imperfection of the modern world.
