They began to do in Sicily in the XII century. For a long time, pasta was the food of aristocrats and wealthy, and only in the XVIII century the development of industry made their main inexpensive product for most Italians. Today spaghetti not lose their popularity, and their production process is fully automated. But it was not always so: in the first half of the twentieth century, almost all production stages were carried out manually.
Look no further as made spaghetti in different countries almost a hundred years ago.Pasta has become popular worldwide after the mass emigration of Italians to America in the early twentieth century. They have become the national dish of Italian cuisine. Despite this, many people until the end of 1950-ies didn't know how to produce them. Some seriously believed that noodles grow on trees.
In these photos, taken in the first half of the twentieth century depict the process of manufacturing spaghetti, during which the dough is compressed, formed, cut and dried before the pot on the table.
In the first half of the XX century simple pasta done the difficult way, while were on the dining tables. Spaghetti workers put their efforts, energy and soul, maybe that's why they have become so popular and loved all over the world. The conventional product required a lot of effort and time in the manufacturing process, and these photos prove that we do not hang noodles on the ears.
