He left behind a lot of bright images and ideas. This man proved himself in art back in the 80s and remained unsurpassed in his genre until the end.
Mamyshev-Monroe began to create the first performances in the last perestroika years. He created a unique image of Marilyn Monroe and the pseudonym of the actress became an addition to his surname. In 1989, Vladislav, together with Timur Novikov, created a new direction of television shows, launching the project "Pirate Television". At the beginning of the 90s, his work was completely new to the public and she accepted it wonderfully.
When the 2000s came, the artist changed Marilyn and turned into a Soviet actress Lyubov Orlova. She became Vladislav's second favorite character after the Hollywood star. But he was no worse at other images.
Mamyshev-Monroe transformed into Leo Tolstoy, Joan of Arc, Putin, Hitler and even Jesus Christ. Innate artistry allowed him to easily copy any celebrities.
In 2006, having gathered a creative team of directors and actors, Mamyshev-Monroe shot his own version of the film "Volga-Volga". Of course, in it he played the heroine of Lyubov Orlova Dunya Petrova. The painting was appreciated and it received the Kandinsky Prize in 2007.
At the same time Vladislav organized the exhibition "Russia, which we have lost". In it, he ridiculed the stereotypes created around Russia and harshly walked through many shortcomings of society. The exhibition became Mamyshev-Monroe's farewell project. Soon he moved to live in Bali and was only visiting his homeland.
In March 2013, Mamyshev-Monroe once again came to Russia. He gave several interviews and left for Bali, which became his home. He planned to have a little rest and join the creative life of the capital again. In April 2013, the artist was expected in Moscow, where he was supposed to play in the play "Polonius" of the Polyatheater Theater. But on March 16, his body was found in the pool of a hotel in the city of Kuta.
