The non-existent evolution of Pablo Picasso's self-portraits

Categories: Celebrities | Culture | History

If you look at a number of self-portraits of the famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso (by the way, the most expensive artist in the world) and compare the first work and the last, then anyone will say that they were not painted by the same person.

Picasso himself explained such a striking difference in his works as follows: “Those different styles that I use in art cannot be perceived as evolution or step-by-step striving for an unknown ideal of the picture ... Different topics inevitably require different methods of reproduction. And this does not mean evolution or progress at all; it is a question of some particular idea that the artist wants to express, and the method in which he wants to express it.

We decided to consider the artist's self-portraits, starting with the earliest, painted by him at the age of 15, and ending with the last.
