The most expensive fruit parlor in the world

The Japanese are more than extravagant people, they always come up with something, go ahead of the rest. This time they stood out with the world's most expensive fruit parlor. Never heard of a fruit parlor? We, too. Sembikia is basically a fruit shop, but the merchandise is so expensive and the interior of the shop is reminiscent of a jewelry store, so "fruit shop" is a pretty apt name.

1. This is the main store of the Japanese fruit "giant" - the company "Sembikiya". It has been run by the same family since 1834. At the time, it was just a regular fruit stand, but one day, the second-generation shop owner's wife decided they could make money in another way.

2. So, this is more of a gift shop than a shop. About 80-90% of these goods are bought as a gift, because in Japan it is customary to give expensive fruits for official events (weddings, business negotiations and visits to the hospital).

3. You can buy Sekai-ichi apples here for $21. $21 for one piece! Sekai-ichi means "best in the world" in Japanese. Allegedly, these apples were washed with honey, the sweat of angels and the tears of Donald Trump. Joke, of course.

By the way, in 2011, farmers from Hokkaido were very sad because the price of these watermelons fell: the most expensive of them was then sold for “only” $ 4,000. Every year, only 100 of these watermelons are grown in Hokkaido.
