By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-georgian-who-made-the-world-love-russian-criminals-and-mate.htmlRecently it became known that the founder of the French fashion brand Vetements, fashion designer Demna Gvasalia, is leaving his company. Gvasalia, a Georgian by origin, created his brainchild in 2014 and immediately became known around the world. The brutal fashion design, unusual for Europe, models with unpleasant appearance and obscene slogans fell in love with young people far beyond the borders of France.
Experts believe that the success of the Vetements brand is based on a contrast to the usual fashion world and social overtones. Gvasalia promoted the Russian trend by offering shirts and T-shirts with Cyrillic prints, jeans with Russian coats of arms, trench coats with carelessly sewn shawls from Pavlov Posad and epic boots with tops from the covers of domestic passports.
The rebellious Georgian was scolded, admired, banned, but it was impossible to look indifferently at what the fashion designer was doing. Each Vetements show became an event and in order to give the event a special charm, the fashion designer chose the appropriate places. Fashion shows were held at flea markets, Chinese restaurants and sex clubs in Paris, and Demna managed to organize the last show at the McDonald's restaurant on the Champs-Elysees.
Leaving Vetements, Gvasalia revealed the secret of his style, which surprised and irritated. He told the press that the impetus for the creation of a provocative brand was the disappointment of modern fashion, refined and boring. The fashion designer believes that he has fulfilled his task and changed the industry forever. His mission has been completed and now the brand will continue to produce collections under the direction of another fashion designer.
Demna Gvasalia's departure from Vetements does not mean the end of her career. The Georgian will continue to work at Balenciaga as creative director and we will be able to evaluate his work during the spring-summer 2020 collection show at Paris Fashion Week.
We invite you to evaluate the most insane creations of the fashion designer who shook the foundations of the fashion industry and made Russian mat and criminal tattoos popular all over the world.
