It turns out that beards are teeming with bacteria and are foci in which various infections can develop.

There are more germs in men's beards than in dog hair: new research shows this. Swiss scientists measured the level of bacteria on 18 male faces with dense vegetation and on the wool cover of 30 dogs. They found that the bacterial load on samples taken from beards is significantly greater than on the hair of dogs.
