Eight years ago a similar case occurred in the Spanish town of Borja. There is a local handyman tried to restore the image of Christ on the wall of the Church, turning it into a "Fluffy Jesus". Fresco ECCE Homo was painted in 1930 by the artist Elias Garcia Martinez.

Experts urge that the restoration of works of art entrusted only to real professionals. Now the Spanish laws permit to do restoration even to those who have no proper education and necessary skills. As a result, humanity is losing priceless masterpieces. Critics are asking the state to pay attention to this problem and to resolve the issue with the restoration to preserve the cultural heritage.
