Manual fox named Spring

Park employee Ekaterina Mikhailova continues to strengthen her contacts with a charming snowy fox named Vesna. This is a long experiment that is going very well.

At a young age, one in three foxes born at the zoo was separated from his family. Ekaterina, under the supervision of specialists, placed Vesna in a separate enclosure and communicated with her daily, replacing the mother fox. She fed the fox, cleaned her cage, walked with her every day, played and even tried to teach simple commands.

1. Of course, training a wild animal is much more difficult than a domestic one. But circus schooling was not the main goal.

2. The main thing is to adapt the fox to communicate with people, to develop special behavioral skills that are not inherent in wild animals.

3. Spring will be one year old in March. And it became interesting for me to look at the results achieved. No sooner said than done.

4. And now I'm already on a walk in the company of Katya and her pet.

5. First we ended up in the woods behind the new enclosure, where Vesna no longer lives in isolation, but in a compartment close to her brothers.

6. The chanterelle played in the snowdrifts, even tried to hunt martens looking out of the enclosures.

7. And then - a long walk around the zoo on a leash.

8. I noticed that many visitors to Roeva Creek did not even notice that a girl was walking past them not with a white dog, but with a real fox.

9. And only up close they were surprised to discover this fact and began to urgently take pictures.

11. Well, at the end of the walk, Katya is engaged in training. And Spring obediently fulfills the commands "Sit", "Lie", "Serve".
