Kate Middleton is pregnant with her third child

On September 4, an announcement appeared on the Kensington Palace Twitter page that a new addition is expected to the royal family: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child. The Queen and the members of both families are happy with this news."

William and Catherine have two children: Prince George of Cambridge is now four years old, and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge is two years old.

The 35-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, as in her two previous pregnancies, suffers from toxicosis (Hyperemesis Gravidarum or uncontrollable vomiting of pregnant women). She was unable to attend the event at the Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London, scheduled for Monday morning, and stayed at the palace.

It seems that Middleton's pregnancy lasts less than 12 weeks (it is at this time that the palace usually announces a replenishment in the royal family), and the announcement appeared so early only because of her illness. The birth of William and Catherine's third child may become a doubly historic event: if it is a boy, he will not displace his older sister Charlotte in line to inherit the throne.
