English artist Sarah Jane Szikora devoted her work to this very problem. No, Sarah is not participating in the irreconcilable struggle between skinny women and body positive women. Her paintings show both with humor.
Sarah-Jane Szikora was born into an international family. Her father is Hungarian and her mother is British. Sarah began drawing at the age of 4, and later studied at an art school. Having received a certificate, Szikora entered an art college, where she acquired the profession of an illustrator.
Soon the artist became interested in creating postcards, for which she developed a special, recognizable style. It is not for nothing that Szikora’s works are dedicated to the lives of thin and overweight people. As a child, Sarah-Jane suffered from ridicule from peers because of her excess weight. Now everything is fine with her figure, but the woman cannot stay away from this problem:
Sarah-Jane Szykora's paintings and postcards do not ridicule or humiliate anyone. Their goal is to show that we are all different and that in any situation and with any hip circumference we should remain ourselves and enjoy life.
New York artist Jonquel Norwood also prefers to depict plus-size ladies. In her work, even popular Disney characters are overweight.
