This man prevented two wars and had a serious impact on military affairs. He became a real legend and an example for thousands of officers. And all his life there was one woman near him - his wife Inna Alexandrovna. She believed in her husband at the beginning of his career, which was not easy and was there for 30 years, giving birth to two sons and a daughter.
Alexander Ivanovich Lebed was born on April 20, 1950 in Novocherkassk, Rostov Region. Later, in his memoirs, he wrote that as a child he did not plan to become a military man. The father of the future general was a simple worker, and his mother worked all her life at the city telegraph office. From the age of 14, Alexander was seriously engaged in boxing and played chess from the elementary grades.
From childhood memories, Alexander Ivanovich highlighted the shooting of a peaceful demonstration in Novocherkassk in 1962. He accidentally witnessed this tragedy and remembered it for the rest of his life. In high school, Lebed decided to become a military pilot. After graduating from school, in 1967 the young man tried to enter the Armavir flight school, but did not pass the medical examination due to an old injury to the nasal septum. He immediately underwent an operation, but the documents were not accepted from him, offering to come in a year.
In order not to waste time, Alexander got a job at the Novocherkassk magnet plant as a grinder. It was there that Lebed met the love of his life, Inna Chirkova. Acquaintance of young people was not at all romantic. The girl came to the grinder Alexander at the end of the shift to chastise him for the mess in the workplace. The young worker eliminated the shortcomings, and began to feel sympathy for his "teacher".
At first, the guy and the girl were just friends. But then their relationship turned into love. Alexander touchingly looked after Inna. He brought a large bouquet of roses to every date. Before the next attempt to enter the flight school, this time in Kachinsky, Lebed confessed his love to the girl. Inna promised that she would certainly wait for the guy and marry him after he received a diploma.
But the second admission to the school was unsuccessful. This time the young man was let down by his tall stature. Sitting, Alexander was 2 cm above the permissible norm and he was again refused. The third attempt, made in 1969, again failed - again the doctors "rejected" the young man's maxillary sinuses. He did the fourth time, having again operated. Now they explained to him that he had no chance of becoming a pilot - with two surgical interventions, they did not take cadets then.
Lebed went to Rostov-on-Don and came to see the general at the regional draft board. He promised to help the stubborn young man and recommended him to the Ryazan Airborne School. Alexander entered immediately and already married Inna as a cadet. In 1972, their son Alexander was born, a year later their daughter Ekaterina, and in 1979 their son Ivan.
Inna was an excellent hostess - she maintained comfort in the house, raised children and had time to study. She graduated from the Ryazan Pedagogical Institute, after which she worked as a school teacher. In 2002, General Alexander Lebed died in a helicopter crash. Inna had a hard time with the loss of her beloved husband, with whom she lived for 30 years. She did not even consider the option of finding a new life partner. The woman knew that she would never find another like it anyway.
Inna Lebed tried to distract herself from her grief. She founded a business, but it did not last long - unfair competition prevented it. Now the general's widow lives for her children and grandchildren. She rarely appears in public and communicates only with a narrow circle of close friends.
The sons and daughter of Lebed also do not seek publicity and stay away from the press. Nevertheless, it is known that the children of the legendary general have become worthy people. None of them followed in their father's footsteps. The eldest son, Alexander, wanted to become a military man as a child. But due to poor eyesight, the dream had to be abandoned. Therefore, he graduated from the Tula Polytechnic Institute and now works as a programmer.
Ekaterina Lebed graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of the Tula Polytechnic University. She married an officer and, like her mother, became a reliable rear for her husband. The youngest son, Ivan, once entered the Suvorov Military School on his father's advice. But over time, he realized that he was not attracted to a military career. Therefore, he received a diploma from Bauman Moscow State Technical University and now lives and works in Moscow.
Inna Alexandrovna Lebed does not like the bustle of the city. Now she lives in her house in the suburbs. Her children and grandchildren often visit her. By the way, she already has 11 grandchildren and 2 of them are named after their grandfather. Inna Lebed refuses all invitations from journalists. She does not want to tell anyone the details of family life and, moreover, somehow use her husband's name.
