Following in the footsteps of millionaires: a 14-year-old schoolboy earns a tidy sum on eBay

The 14-year-old schoolboy from Hawkchurch, Devon, officially launched his Dog In A Box business cell on the worldwide eBay sales site last year. He named his online store after his beloved dog Oreo. The case does not stand still, and money drips into the account of an enterprising boy every day.

A small entrepreneur has created an online toy store, having converted a parent's milk storage cellar for it. Now his business brings in 15,000 pounds (about 1,300,000 rubles) a year.

The idea of his own business dawned on the guy four years ago, when his younger brother indicated a Nerf toy pistol worth 35 pounds (3,000 rubles) in his birthday wish list.

Having found out how popular and expensive these toys are, the boy began to look for prices for them on different sites and found a whole batch of used pistols on Gumtree for only 19 pounds (1,630 rubles) apiece. Tommy realized that buying through third parties is a business that is unprofitable for the client, but very profitable for the seller.

A smart boy started selling eggs from his parents' farm in order to buy the first batch of toy pistols with the proceeds. He put the bush toys in order, cleaned and sold them piece by piece on eBay, at a price of 20 — 30 pounds (1 700 — 2 600 rubles) for each.Soon he saved up enough money to purchase a second batch of goods. After the guy sold more than 1000 foam pistols, he officially registered his own online store Dog In A Box on eBay, and began selling various toys.

A purposeful young businessman does all the work himself: he calls manufacturers, negotiates with wholesalers and, every day after school, rides a bicycle for parcels.

Last year, he earned 6,000 pounds (514,000 rubles) on holiday sales of toys and trade in inflatable pools during the heat.

Tommy dreams of opening stores all over Britain and believes that his young age is not an obstacle to building a business career.

Despite the fact that the teacher at school advised the boy not to rush things, the young businessman called the manufacturer of toy pistols Hasbro, and the giant manufacturer signed a supply agreement with him.Tommy officially registered on eBay as a businessman in March 2018 and began ordering more than 200 types of goods from wholesalers from all over the world. He asked his dad, 43-year-old Charlie, to make shelves in the pantry for storing dairy products on their farm. There Tommy placed his warehouse.
