Such a house can be built in just 24 hours, and it will last about 100 years. The cost of innovation is 30 thousand euros. At the moment, houses are sold only in some parts of Europe, where there are queues for them.

The word Wikkelhouse translates from Dutch as "wrapper house". The process of creating unusual housing really resembles the wrapping process: the frame of the house is wrapped in 24 layers of cardboard. In fact, each such house is an individual project, because they all differ slightly from each other in size.

Each house is assembled from five to six cardboard modules weighing 500 kg, which are easily connected with each other using eco-friendly glue. The customer chooses the required size of housing himself. In addition, Wikkelhouse does not require deep foundations, which makes it easier to install. According to the developer company, the assembly of the house is carried out in just 24 hours by one construction team.

This is how the eco-house wall looks like: cardboard is treated with a water-repellent impregnation, and for additional strength, the structure is reinforced with wood.

The building is characterized by stability and durability. Its total weight is only 3 tons, so the foundation of such a house is not needed.

Inside and outside the house is finished with a waterproof film glued to the wooden surface. This allows you to protect the interior and exterior of the house from adverse weather conditions.

All the material from which Wikkelhouse is made is recyclable.

Glass facades are located on both sides of the house to maximize natural light.

The interior of the house is carefully thought out. It can be transformed according to the customer's preferences, and for an additional fee — add a bathroom and a kitchen.

Connection of both central and autonomous communications is provided for the house.

At the moment, the company accepts pre-orders for the production of cardboard housing: the houses are sold in several European countries. Manufacturers produce only 20 such houses per year "to ensure the highest quality." Wikkelhouse is installed in both urban and rural areas. For example, there is a similar house on the territory of the University of Amsterdam, where it is used as an auditorium for classes.

The manufacturing company also experimented with placing Wikkelhouse on a floating platform.
