By Vika https://pictolic.com/article/7-reasons-to-never-drink-bottled-water-again.htmlWater in a plastic bottle is certainly very convenient. But is it as safe as it might seem at first glance? The price of such convenience is quite high: from harm to the environment to health problems. It's time to think about whether a bottle of water is worth the terrible consequences that it can entail ...

1. Have you ever thought about how much money is generated from the sale of ordinary water? The marketing plans of large water producers have reached the apogee of their absurdity. They use a resource available to everyone, put it in a plastic container with a wrapper, and fill the store shelves with it, and we, in turn, buy this product at exorbitant prices. And this is just one of the 7 reasons why you should switch from plastic disposable bottles favor of reusable ones!
2. Plastic affects the quality of bottled water
It's time to learn that plastic is used in just about every step of food production and is hard to avoid. However, minimizing plastic is possible! To do this, start using glass and stainless containers. There are many types of plastic in the world and the bad news is that they all release a number of chemicals in one way or another that negatively affect the contents. Some of these substances are the carcinogens BPA, as well as antimony. The composition of substances released from plastic has not yet been thoroughly studied, but one thing is for sure: there is simply no COMPLETELY safe plastic in the world!
3. Bottled water is not cleaner than tap water
Statistics say that more than 33% of the entire water industry violates the purity standards for all bottled water. The body that regulates this issue (FDA, Food and Drug Administration) consists of a small department, which is significantly different in scope compared to the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency), which controls tap water. At the same time, almost 1/3 of all bottled water consists of ordinary tap water, which literally flows from your taps. Therefore, before you buy a bottle of water with images of mountain rivers and glacial lakes, remember this fact!
4. Bottled water production hurts tap water funding
Agree that you could never refuse ordinary water that flows from taps. We use it literally for everything, so it is important to maintain this infrastructure at the proper level, which, unfortunately, most countries cannot boast of. Now think about how bottled water manufacturers are using this fact to their advantage! They scare people by insisting that bottled water is much cleaner than tap water. At the same time, huge amounts of money are being spent on cleaning up the environment from tons of plastic in which this same water is sold, instead of simply improving the water infrastructure and abandoning the plastic that enters water flows.
5. Plastic recycling
The number of plastic bottles recycled, for example, in the US has been increasing every year since 1990. Sounds good, if you don't take into account the fact that the recycling rate has remained stable all this time. It is also worth considering that in many cities and even countries there are no plastic recycling facilities, and most of the recycled products themselves are not recyclable, and here we are: about 4 billion plastic bottles end up in waste every year.
8. Cause of global warming
In total, the production of plastic bottles requires about 17 million barrels of oil each year. This, of course, increases the risk of global warming, because each plastic bottle releases 120 grams of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. After all, to make one water bottle, you need to use 3 of the same containers!
