1. Triumphal arch, decorated with a chariot and sculpture by Niki, the Greek goddess of Victory, stands on Kutuzovskaya Avenue in Moscow and is the next "reincarnation" of other arches, dedicated to the 18th decree of Nikol. The emperor wanted to have a memorial arch in Moscow in honor of the victory of the Russian people in the Patriotic War of 1812 against Napoleonic France - similar to what was built in St. Petersburg that year. The first triumphal arch was a wooden one. Then he was replaced by a stone. But in 1936 the arch was dismantled in connection with the change of the general plan of the city. Cast iron gates stood on the town square for several years, until they were replanted by the Soviet Army during the Great Patriotic War. In the ninth century, the arch was restored in 1966-1968. 150 sculptures were removed for him and 12 new ones for the column.
2. For some time, the Narva triumphal arch in St. Petersburg served as a city gate, meeting travelers who visited the Russian capital from Europe. The arch was designed by Italian architect Giacomo Quarengi. It was built in 1834 in honor of the victory of Russia in the war of 1812 against Napoleon. In 1944, Soviet troops passed through the blockade of Leningrad. Now inside the arch, there is a museum of military glory, occupying three floors and a basement.
3. The arch on the Palace Square in the center of St. Petersburg is part of the building of the Main Headquarters: for a long time, its 580-meter facade was considered one of the longest in Europe. The arch was designed for the whole building and was intended to commemorate the victory in the war of 1812. Its bas-reliefs are made of the blinds of military trophies, on the sides are placed statues of ancient soldiers and a chariot with the goddess Nike on the top. The architect who designed it, Carlo Rossi, an Italian by origin, considered the arch to be the dominant building of the General Staff and today it is one of the city's attractions. Now in the eastern wing of the building are stored treasures of the Hermitage.
4. The triumphal arch in Kursk is part of the ensemble, built in honor of the victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. He was drafted in 2000 at the entrance to the city of Kursk, where he was one of the key fighters of the Great Patriotic War - the Battle of Kursk.
5. This massive arch in the Stalinist style of architecture is another symbol of victory in the Second World War. He also became the main entrance to the VDNH (Exhibition of Achievements of the national economy), one of the most recognizable architectural monuments of the Soviet era.
6. The arch of the main entrance to Gorky Park is a symbol of the main part of the capital rises to 1955 when the central entrance to the park decorated a monumental arch according to the project of G. Щуко и А. Spasova. For a long time, the 18-meter arch, located next to the Crimean Bridge, was one of the symbols of the new socialist Moscow.
