On the night of July 25, 1980, Vladimir Vysotsky died in his apartment from acute heart failure. Just at that time, the XXII Summer Olympic Games were held in Moscow, and there were practically no publications about the death of the popular favorite singer and actor, only two messages were published. Nevertheless, the whole of Moscow came to bury Vysotsky.

Stanislav Sadalsky tells: "All the flowers were sold out. We went with Lydia Postnikova (deputy director of Sovremennik) to the flower shop on Chernyshevsky Street — it was also empty, only daisies. They took everything they had. They approached the coffin unhindered, the police saluted us."

44. Oleg Dahl at Vagankovo on July 28, 1980.

Now I remember… We were saying goodbye… Forever… Now I understand… I understand... the discontinuity of the trace… Early May… Stumbling... words, words, words. The magpie beats its tail. The snow falls, exposing the naked coldness of the branches. And now the last chapter Smelled like a rose bush, Promising longing and falsehood, And died in my chest. Peace-peace… And loneliness, and anger. And I cry in my sleep and wake up... resentment is a silvery month. Stigmatization is a burning test. And I repent again. I repent. I repent, Holding a torn heart in my hands…

A poem by O. Dahl dedicated to the memory of V. Vysotsky.Vysotsky, brother. Monino, January 1981.
