21 rare photos of the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley

On August 16, the world celebrates Elvis Presley Memorial Day, and thousands of his fans are eager to honor the memory of this rock and roll legend. Elvis' hometown Memphis is becoming the center of attention, because that's where Elvis Week takes place. But what do we really know about Presley other than his hits? The raised right hand of Elvis Presley meant that the idol of millions was officially accepted into the US army. The oath was taken by Major Albert P. Turner. By midnight on March 24, 1958, Elvis and 20 freshmen from Memphis lined up in the first formation at Fort Chaffe.
