Who works, he eats: a restaurant has opened in Tokyo where you can eat after working a shift in the kitchen

The Mirai Shokudo restaurant opened in 2015 in Tokyo, and its owner Sekai Kobayashi figured out how to help those who do not have money for food. The hostess of the establishment offers visitors to work a 50-minute shift and thus earn a hot and delicious lunch. Sekai Kobayashi, a former software developer, believes that such a system helps in the development of a successful business.

The idea came to a woman when she was working on a recipe website. The company's office had a kitchen that employees could use. And when Kobayashi, inspired by compliments from colleagues about her cooking, decided to leave her usual job and open her own restaurant, she remembered it again. In two years, 500 assistants have already worked at the Mirai Shokudo restaurant.

Now someone new is always working in the kitchen of the restaurant - from students who want to save on lunch, to a former teacher of 50 years, who also decided to change her profession. "I use this system because I want to get to know people better who don't have money for restaurants."

Sekai Kobayashi didn't stop at the free lunch. On the restaurant's website, she discusses financial issues and accepts suggestions from customers on what to improve in the institution.

"I have published a business plan and a financial report on the website and now I can collect information from visitors about what improvements should be made in the restaurant." This approach not only helps Kobayashi, but also serves as a source of useful information for those who also want to open a restaurant.
