The Paris apartment of Rudolf Nureyev
In Paris, on Quai Voltaire, opposite the Louvre, the Rudolf Nureyev was the apartment where he lived the last ten years. In 1985, the magazine Architectural Digest published photos of the interiors of this apartment.

Nureyev died in 1993 and was buried at the Russian cemetery of Saint Genevieve de Bois near Paris. About the same time one of the leading artists of the Paris Opera by Enzo Frigerio, friend and fellow dancer, suggested the idea of decoration of the grave with the help of Oriental rug. Nureyev was a collector of antique rugs and generally ancient textiles from different countries, especially favorite carpets roamed with him on tour, inspiring new amazing dances and performances.
Sketches of carpet made by Enzo Frigerio, just repeated one of the favorite Oriental rug from the collection of Nureyev. To reproduce a carpet of color, the visual effect of fabric texture, it was agreed with the mosaic. Mosaic have solved the problem of the play elegant cascading folds of the carpet, and provided the natural look of the strands of Golden fringe.
