The hippie camp Taylor camp — a utopian place with no worries, evil and clothing
Many believe that if Heaven on earth exists, it certainly is on the Hawaiian Islands. That is why it was built here in the late 60-ies of the last century in their own little world of happiness, equality and love are a small company hippies. Camp Taylor camp lasted only 8 years, but during that time he managed to change the lives of hundreds of people. (Caution! Nude)
Camp Taylor hippie camp appeared on the Hawaiian island of Kauai in 1969. It was founded by fugitive from civilization Howard Taylor, brother of the incomparable Elizabeth Taylor, who acquired the local authorities part of the coast. The first settler of the distant coast of the island, where from man-made objects was only a lighthouse, were 12 boys and girls fleeing unrest in the United States associated with anti-war speeches of youth.
The camp was in a wonderful place between the ocean, the beautiful mountains and pristine rainforest. First time in Kauai almost never happened outsiders, only sometimes the commune was visited by the doctors or the authorities. Later, it began to appear tourists, informal and youth participants of the Vietnam war, tired of the bloodshed and violence.
In its heyday, in the commune of Taylor camp lived 120 people and all in this Hawaiian Paradise for the years of its existence have been thousands of people from around the world who have come here to little to be happy.
The colonists lived in the fertile climate, but absolutely everything had to rely on their own strength. Food had to produce fishing, collecting fruit in the forest and agriculture. Nearly all the settlers were without clothing the naked body aroused hippie lust or negative emotions, as all the inhabitants of the Taylor camp considered each other brothers and sisters.
The inhabitants of the camp by the ocean later recalled that no lust, orgies and even more violence on Kauai never was. Among the Communards were couples, people had sex, had children, but no orgies, no debauchery in Taylor's camp has never been.
Not encouraged among the progressive young people and alcohol use. But drugs by the island's residents was positive, as LSD and marijuana was an integral part of the hippie subculture. But a banned substance in the commune were not associated with crime and their use does not lead to troubles. All people in Taylor camp, returning to society, become worthy members.
Unfortunately, a hippie commune on the shore of the Bay Blue Bay haunted wealthy Hawaiians. In the early 70-ies of the island began to work hard to arrange for tourists and Taylor camp, whose residents do not consume the benefits of civilization and did not recognize the money was unwanted contingent on Kauai.
Numerous attempts to survive the youth with the grace of the coast in the end successful — Howard Taylor was forced to sell the land at the Blue Bay and the hippies had gone from this place. All the buildings of the commune was burned, and the place where the camp was leveled by bulldozers.
Now this place is a tourist camping places for tents, portable toilets and a spacious paved Parking. Paradise on the earth, whose residents did not know worries and despised clothes, nothing more recalls.
40 years after the disappearance of the camp, the former inmate John Wehrheim published photographs showing the everyday life of young rebels.
The hippie movement has not disappeared, but today his followers in the world not so much. American of Polish descent Magdalena Wosinska introduces its followers on instagram with the life of modern flower child in the United States. Although her photographs seem to have more of exhibitionism and Commerce than of protest.
