How an Italian woman helps to cope with stress with the help of "naked" yoga
Naked yoga coach Doria Gani has been practicing spiritual practices for 12 years, ever since she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. In 2015, a woman became interested in nudism, attending the annual Burning Man festival in Nevada. She was especially inspired by her own nude photos — they gave the woman a sense of freedom. Now the coach helps others to accept their bodies and cope with moral trauma. Learn more about the effect of naked yoga therapy from our material.
(Watch out! Nude nature)
Doria, 44, has many students. Group classes are held exclusively in the nude, while no one is shy of each other. The coach is sure that in this way her wards gain self-confidence and overcome mental pain.
The guru herself suffered from complexes in her youth. She grew up in Italy and as a teenager considered herself fat, although she weighed only 45 kg at a height of 1.57 m. At the age of 25, Doria developed bulimia, and her weight dropped to 40 kg. Fortunately, the girl managed to overcome the disease in a year, but she continued to hate her body.
In 2005, an Italian woman came to London to improve her English. Here she began working in the retail industry. The woman fell in love with the British capital, but four years later her happy life was turned upside down: Doria was diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer. In May 2009, she underwent surgery. It was followed by a course of chemotherapy and radiation, as a result of which the woman went into early menopause. The doctors said she would never have children.
To recover from the heavy treatment, Doria decided to start practicing yoga. After just three sessions, she felt an extraordinary surge of strength and energy. Since then, the Italian woman devotes every day to practice. In 2014, the woman went to India to learn the art of yoga from a local guru. She spent six weeks there and returned refreshed. A year later, Doria tried naked exercise at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, and she loved it.
After returning to London, Doria decided to share her positive experiences with others. In April 2016, she began conducting individual "naked" yoga classes, combining them with her main work. Her students were nudists and people who were recovering from cancer. Soon the coach decided to conduct group practices, which became popular.
The teacher says that many people are initially shy to undress in front of strangers, but the right attitude helps to overcome indecision and cope with self-doubt. Over time, her clients overcome complexes, depression and learn to love their bodies.
Doria left her job in human resources and devoted herself entirely to yoga. During the quarantine, she conducts classes online and waits for live communication, because she considers offline practices more effective. The coach prides himself on helping people change their lives for the better and accept themselves as they are.
Meanwhile, Laura Jasorka from New Jersey likes to go to the mountains naked. She conquers the rocks and social networks, posting hot photos.
