British celebrities undress in defense of the herring

Last year, a photo of famed British actress Helena Bonham Carter posing naked and hugging a 27kg tuna fish went viral at an astronomical rate. And now film star and theater actress Emma Thompson and husband Greg Wise have followed suit and stripped down for a FishLove campaign photo shoot to draw attention to overfishing in UK waters. The couple starred together with a sable fish.

The action was also attended by many other actors and stars of the country, who called for a reduction in the consumption of such popular fish species, such as cod, and switch to lesser-known ones - sprats, herring, mackerel and triglidae (sea cocks).

London's leading seafood restaurant, J Sheekey Oyster Bar, supported the FishLove campaign by inviting photographer Gillian Edelstein for a series of photographs. It must be admitted that thanks to the annual provocative photo shoots with naked leading actors dedicated to drawing attention to the problems of endangered fish species, the FishLove campaign has become one of the most successful in terms of information content.
