The act of childbirth is an unusual and completely unique phenomenon for every person who experiences it. Regardless of whether the birth takes place at home or in the hospital, via caesarean section or in a pool of water, there is no doubt that the birth of a child is an unforgettable miracle. It was childbirth that became the key theme of the annual Birth Becomes Her photo contest to show people the mystery and beauty of birth.
This year, about 1000 images were sent to the contest, for which more than 20 thousand people voted online. The main winner was a photo taken by Marijke Thon in black and white. It depicts a girl seeing her younger brother for the first time.
