Sometimes ugliness becomes a path to fame. A six-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh was born with an elephant's trunk instead of a nose. When it was surgically removed, the child had two noses. Thanks to this feature, the baby became a local star – she is considered the incarnation of the god Ganesha.

A little Indian woman is considered the incarnation of a deity, because she was born with a trunk instead of a nose. Surgeons removed the growth, but after the operation, the girl had two noses. Baby Lakshimi lives in Uttar Pradesh in northern India. At first, the villagers were afraid of her, but then they realized that the baby was a manifestation of divine power.

Lakshimi is the fourth child in the family. The children did not want to play with her because of her unusual appearance, but now the girl is revered as an incarnation of the Hindu god Ganesha. During the holidays, money and gifts are brought to her and they ask for a blessing.

Doctors advised the baby's parents to wait until she grows up to determine exactly what kind of plastic surgery can be done.

Now the family does not have money for the operation, so they announced a fundraiser so that Lakshimi could live a normal life.

Joseph Merrick-the Elephant Man-was the star of the Victorian freak show and the man with the most deformed appearance in history. Congenital anomalies brought him fame, like little Lakshimi, but caused constant pain and led to death at a young age.
