Hundreds of settlements were cut off from the outside world: Blizzard cut phone lines and power lines, flooded roads.

As a result of more than a hundred villages were completely destroyed. People who had taken refuge in the houses were killed in the collapse of a roof or were buried alive. In the villages Kakkan and Kumar there was not a single survivor.

Many died from frostbite and disease, not having the necessary medicines. The temperature of the air in those days, dropped to -20 degrees Celsius.
