Amanda Bacon from Wilmington, North Carolina, recently posted a photo on Facebook taken shortly after giving birth. This is not an ordinary selfie where a mother takes pictures of herself and her newborn baby. The young mother decided to show a cruel reality, not embellished with Instagram filters.

The picture gained more than 594 thousand likes and was shared by more than 166 thousand people who supported Amanda in her desire to honestly show childbirth from such a side.

Here's what the girl wrote in the comments to her post:

Motherhood without notes. I'm sharing this photo because it's real. This is motherhood, it's rude, amazing, messy and terribly ridiculous at the same time. Having a baby is a wonderful experience, but not enough is said about the realities of life after childbirth. And, of course, they don't photograph enough. Some people will probably find it indecent, but why? I really don't understand! Probably because it is not customary to talk about it. We should all try to learn and accept all aspects of childbirth, including such moments. And do it without losing your sense of humor. Nothing meets a woman in the role of a mother like a small defenseless baby and a huge postpartum diaper. Update: My husband did not post this photo. He's not even on Facebook. I posted this.

In other posts on her page, Amanda illustrates the first days and months with a newborn: this is the eternal lack of sleep, and the crying of a child who can not be calmed in any way, and breastfeeding.
