Who are you born into? Elton John and his Parents

On March 25, 1947, Sheila Fairbrother of Pinner, Middlesex, had a son, Reginald Kenneth Dwight, who later became known as Elton John. Sheila married Elton's father, Stanley Dwight, when Elton was 6, and divorced him when Elton was 14. She later became the wife of local artist Fred Fairbrother, with whom she raised young Elton. The whole family seemed to be eccentric.

Nevertheless, both Elton's parents and his father have invested a lot in his musical career. His father gave him a musical gift: he was a capable musician and once played the trombone in an ensemble.
