Every year photographers from all over the world take part in the prestigious Smithsonian Magazine photo contest. Over 16 years, the editorial board has received more than 440 thousand photos. Photographers from all over the world claim victory in six main categories: "Nature", "Travel", "People", "Mobile Photography", "American Experience" and "Edited Images".

At the same time, the acceptance of applications for participation in the 17th Smithsonian Photo Contest continues: photographers from all over the world can submit their works until November 30, 2018.
