1. Bernard McFadden

Bernard Macfadden was a sickly child. At the age of 11, becoming an orphan, he began working on a farm. Hard work and good food made him a strong young man. At the age of 16, Bernard began training with dumbbells. He also took daily walks.

By the age of 20, McFadden had become a raw foodist. I practiced fasting. He opposed white bread. He took photos before and after the diet. One of them shows Bernard standing with 100-pound dumbbells overhead after a week-long fast.

In 1893, the young man saw the performance of the progenitor of bodybuilding, Eugene Sandow, during the International Exhibition, which was held in Chicago. This inspired McFadden so much that in 1904 he decided to run bodybuilding competitions. Also, under his supervision, the journal "Physical Culture" was published. Bernard was a businessman and could afford it.

2. Charles Atlas

Charles Atlas (real name - Angelo Siciliano) is considered the creator of bodybuilding. It was Charles who developed a unique set of physical exercises. The athlete called his method "dynamic stretching".

Having achieved a beautiful physique, Atlas began to take his first steps as a model for famous sculptures. Today they can be seen in different cities in the United States. For example, a statue for Washington Square or the Brooklyn City Hall building in New York.

He also actively participated in competitions. On account of his titles such as "The most beautiful man in the world" and "The most perfect man in the world." In the 30s, Charles was considered the most "relief" athlete.

3. Sigmund Klein

Sigmund Klein is from West Prussia. He was an acrobat, gymnast, and bodybuilder. On account of his victory in numerous competitions. He became the US professional weightlifting champion.

Klein actively promoted kettlebell lifting. He even created the Iron Game training. He also worked as a coach. He had his own Hall of Stars in Hollywood. In 1927, he opened his own physical education studio in the heart of New York.

Sigmund's interest in athleticism began at the age of 12 when his father began lifting a 112-pound kettlebell from the floor with one little finger. And his older brother worked in a bakery, so the boy had to carry sacks of flour. They replaced the kettlebell for the future athlete. He got his first barbell only in 1919. Then he began to actively train.
