Bassi promised himself that this would not happen again, and began to lose weight.

In 2016, a forest fire started in the Fort McMurray area. Tony and his colleagues thought that the incident would not affect them, and continued to work as usual. But after a while, the fire reached such proportions that the authorities decided to evacuate residents of nearby settlements by plane.

At that time, Tony weighed 257 kilograms. When the man arrived at the airport for evacuation, the staff put him at the very beginning of the queue because of his weight. And on the plane, because of his considerable size, Tony took two seats at once.

This moment, when Tony realized that because of him, someone would not have enough space on the plane, changed his life forever.
Tony started losing weight literally the next day after the evacuation. To begin with, he took up his diet — he took the skin off the chicken and replaced the French fries with vegetables. And began to move more.
Gradually Tony increased the load: at first he walked for five minutes, then for ten and then incrementally. Now Tony weighs 110 kilograms, and about 13 kilograms is excess skin, which he plans to get rid of. In the near future, Bassi wants to sign up for a gym, and three years later, on the fifth anniversary of the evacuation, run a marathon. Another of Tony's dreams is traveling. Previously, he could not afford it because of the weight, and now he is going to catch up.

Tony wants his story to inspire others to change.
