Denny (Frances F. Denny) decided to create a unique series of images of those who possess magical powers. Beauty and wisdom, magic and mystique: the penetrating views of these extraordinary women penetrate the soul, and on the back runs a nasty chill.

(Caution! Superstitious and very impressionable look dangerous!)
A series of portraits of "Higher magic: witches of America" Frances F. Denny created to show an amazing combination of modernity and deep ancient knowledge that these women carry. She traveled around the US and doing portraits of those who call themselves witches. The photographer will show their work at an exhibition in Chelsea that visitors were able to get acquainted with those who are often afraid to say out loud.
Her heroines — women of different ages, social statuses and nationalities, practicing different types of rituals. The photographer focused on mysticism, the occult, polytheism, treatment with herbs and secret rituals that fill the lives of each of these women. Francis wants to see society take a closer looked at the individuality and diversity of modern witches, not looking at them through the prism of stereotypes.
For portrait photography the photographer asked the heroines to wear the outfit that best demonstrates their work. Original capes, massive decorations, expressive eye makeup and mysterious expression that clearly underlines the status of witches. Servants of the secret cults brought to the photo shoot magical objects used in their rituals, crystal balls, bows and arrows, wooden sticks and even snakes.
