It is not surprising that tourists see on Uzbek and Tajik markets these strange devices with needle heads, wondering, "What is it?" This is actually the stamp for the famous Oriental cakes.
In the East is still alive the tradition of baking homemade bread, which differs from our understanding of a familiar food product. Eastern bread baked in the traditional oven, the tandoor also serves as bread, plate and artwork. Dry the pellet for a very long time do not spoil. Cekic and nonpar made from wood of fruit trees. Thin needle – nothing like small cloves. They are fixed in the form of drawings, patterns. On the Eastern markets to buy a stamp for every taste: hearts, citrus wedges, stars, spirals, flowers. Some attribute the patterns of sacred significance.

Raw prick the cake, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sent to the wall of the hot tandoor. After five minutes the cake is ready! It is removed from the wall by using special gloves.


There is a legend that a fallen ash in the bread brings good luck and is sacred. Such a pellet is treated to the closest person.
