"She is flesh of my flesh," says the photographer from new York, Anna Ogier-bloomer about his daughter violet. The woman meticulously documented the first 2.5 years of the life of his child without missing scenes of lactation, the rare moments of sleep, and other aspects of motherhood unadorned.

Photo a letdown ("the other side") — a dedication to the real experiences and sufferings of motherhood. Psychological "reverse side", lactation provoked by suckling the breast of the child becomes the main allegory of the silent two-way flow of feelings between the baby and the woman who gave birth to him.

The photographer admits that he was not mentally prepared for the overwhelming appetite of her child. She was overcome with exhaustion impossible, so strong that, in her own words, a weakened body took up psychological strength. "I was amazed at how my body became something else, not my own," shared Anna. But despite the frustration and exhaustion the first few weeks, she was left with nothing but his camera.

"I hardly wanted to pick up a camera," says the photographer. However, the moments that she went through with violet and captured, not to disappear. She felt the instinctive invisible connection with the child, and the parting was unbearable. She longed for violet, when they were not together.

Anna notes that erotic and nourishing function of the female breast in the cultural field are separated from each other. "I have a friend who once said: "it is Strange, but when you give birth, your Breasts are already not sexual", but that's not entirely accurate. They're not mutually exclusive". Though "the other side" — a photographic project about a specific mother and a specific child, it is also about femininity in a more global sense: the unbreakable bond between mother and daughter goes through it with a red line.

Connect with myself and with the child was almost frightening in its strength. "The deep pain I feel when my daughter is hurt or sad, is something eternal. For her I would have jumped under a train," says the photographer.

If she will show these pictures very violet when she grows up? Anna hopes that the pictures will contribute to the education of the girl feminism. The phrase she uses "the flesh" — originally mentioned in the Bible in the context of the subject of eve from Adam, but "the other side" gives new meaning to the phrase on the unbreakable connection, and interdependence, applying it only to two women — one large and one small.
