Bidermanas Izis (Izis Bidermanas) — the most famous street photographer of the twentieth century. Throughout his life, the photographer was taking pictures of people and streets. His black-and-white photograph filled with life, the city's history and interesting composition in the frame.

Israelis Bidermanas (full name of the photographer) was born in 1911 into a Jewish family in the town of Marijampole, Lithuania. School mates called him a dreamer. Father wanted to Izis worked as a carpenter, but the boy was keen on painting. At 13 he left school and began to study photography. Later he left his native city to travel and take pictures.

Security measures did not protect the photographer, and he was captured by the Nazis. Freed its members of the French resistance — the maquis. Bidermanas joined the underground fighters and they have dedicated a series of portraits, who took a prominent place in his work.
