An untidy and confused Jean Zon van Dorsten (Jan Zon van Dorsten) entered a bar in the Dutch town of Reinerwold and emptied five glasses of beer at a time. The cult members initially believed that the end of the world would come in 1979. Roche Theriot first founded a community in Burnt River, Ohio, and then moved to a mountainous area that he called "The Mountain of Eternity". At the height of its activity, the sect numbered 12 adults and 22 children: the leader married every woman in the community, and they all gave birth to children from him — future members of the cult.

The bloodthirsty organizer was put behind bars only after one of the members of the community escaped and informed the authorities about the nightmare that was happening inside their group. It happened after Roche Theriot cut off his hand for trying to escape. In 2011, the 63-year-old leader of the" Community of Mountain Ants " was stabbed by a cellmate.

This sect was headed by Pyotr Kuznetsov, who became a "prophet" from an ordinary engineer. The community included 35 members who lived in a cave and were afraid to go out into the open air during the first five months of 2008. They were afraid to see the Earth fall into the abyss of vice and cannibalism before the devil was strengthened and then defeated.

Members of the cult chased the police with guns and threatened to blow themselves up to protect their community in southern Russia. Two members of the sect died during the winter cold, but their bodies were left to decompose among living like-minded people.

When John Coltharp disappeared with his children in 2017 after a high-profile divorce, the police believed that they were dealing with a typical story of parents fighting for custody. Schaeffer was given a life sentence, and the cult he invented soon collapsed.

The leader of one of the most dangerous Doomsday cults, David Koresh, is responsible for the deaths of 76 people.
