By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-mysterious-and-sophisticated-karol-buke.htmlOn August 18, 1957, the French actress and model Carole Bouquet was born. Her springboard to fame was the role of James Bond girl Melina Havelock in the 1981 film "For Your Eyes Only". However, this is far from the only role of the fatal Frenchwoman: during her career since 1977, she has played in more than 50 films.
Carole Bouquet was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine. When the girl was four years old, her mother left the family for a lover. The engineer father, after returning from work, turned a short note in his hand for a long time, in which his ex-wife already informed him that she did not intend to spend her whole life in a miserable working-class suburb of Paris.
Later, her father sent Karol and her sister to school at a Catholic monastery. There were rather strict rules there, but the actress remembers her mentors with gratitude, noting that they were the first feminists she met on the path of life.
According to her, she followed this principle for the rest of her life.
She did not have to start her career working in low-budget films, which could hardly attract attention to an aspiring actress: at the age of 19, Karol made her debut in the film directed by Luis Bunuel "This vague object of desire", and in 1981 became a "Bond girl" in the film "Only for your Eyes".
Throughout the 1980s, Karol Buke successfully starred in European cinema. In the 1980s and 1990s, Buke also worked as a model and was the face of several advertising campaigns of leading brands.
Bouquet was married to producer Jean-Pierre Rassam, who died in 1985. This is the only official marriage of the actress. In her marriage, her son Dimitri was born. She also has a son, Louis, by photographer Francis Giacobetti.
In 1990, Carole Bouquet received the prestigious French cinema award "Cesar" for the best actress in the film directed by Bertrand Blieux "Too Beautiful for you". In this film, she played together with Gerard Depardieu, and on the set an affair began between them. For more than ten years they lived in a civil marriage and even got engaged in 2003, but the wedding was not destined to take place.
Carole Buquet was the face of Chanel for 15 years in the 1980s and 1990s, presenting the fragrances of this brand. However, she herself is not engaged in perfumery, but in winemaking and olive oil production, having become seriously interested in this after breaking up with Depardieu. After the breakup, Bouquet and Depardieu remained good friends.
Classic, strict facial features, dark hair and green eyes, as well as incredible charm and talent contributed to Karol's success.
In the noughties, Buke played the main roles in the films "Berenice" (2000), "Wasabi" (2001), "The Rose Family" (2003). Other notable projects with her participation were "Unfinished Novel" (2011), "Not a Moment of Peace" (2014), work in the remake of Roman Polanski's psychological thriller "Rosemary's Baby" (2014), the television series "Shadow Advisers" (2014-2016) and "Mantis" (2017).
The actress is also known for her philanthropic activities — she participates in charity events and concerts, cooperates with the La voix de l'enfant foundation ("The Voice of the Child"), which helps children affected by violence.
Now Buke remains the same exquisite beauty as before. She is in good physical shape (her weight is 58 kg with a height of 173 cm). At the same time, the actress does not conduct social networks. No one can find out her personal secrets — it's not for nothing that Karol has been assigned the role of a mystery woman.
