4. George Dambie was born on April 5, 1925, in Issy-le-Moulineau, on the right bank of the Seine. Initially, George studied drawing with the famous artist Paul Kolen, who was distinguished for his innovation. Of course, this will significantly affect the creativity of the photographer in the future.

7. Dambie studied photography under the guidance of photographer and designer Willy Rizzo. George got his first job as a reportage photographer in one of the Parisian newspapers. The photographer gradually makes acquaintances with models and gradually switches to the fashion industry.

10. Like many legendary fashion photographers, Georges Dambie prefers to photograph on the beach, near monuments and noisy city streets. The success of the photographer in the visual arts was so high that in 1954 Robert Capa invited George to the Magnum photo agency to head the fashion department.

12. Unfortunately, the death of Robert Capa did not allow Dambie to get into Magnum. No. George opens his own studio on Rue de la Bienfaisance in Paris and continues to work as a freelancer.

He went on a well-deserved retirement, having spent most of his career at Elle magazine.
