By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-amazing-sky-bridge-of-langkawi.htmlFor 500 million years, the mountain lived quietly on the island of Langkawi ... But in 2005, the quiet and measured life of the mountain came to an end. Between two peaks at an altitude of 652.5 m above sea level, a miracle bridge “hung” over the gorge, reaching into the heavens. The Langkawi Sky Bridge is one of the tallest single-bearing bridges in the world. The amazing design of this footbridge rests on just one single column. In good weather, the bridge offers a magnificent view of the Andaman Sea with islands, green rainforests and mountains.
1. An amazing bridge is located in Malaysia at an altitude of 700 meters and passes over the gorge between the Gunung mountains.
2. It is 125m long, 1.8m wide and is unique in that it is completely suspended by cables.
3. The graceful curve of the bridge allows from a certain point to feel the complete illusion of free soaring over the abyss that extends below.
4. And having risen even higher - to a height of 710 meters above sea level, you will get to the observation deck.
5. The bridge offers a magnificent, breathtaking view of the mountains, the green jungle, the Andaman Sea and the islands. In clear weather, you can even see neighboring Thailand.
6. The bridge was built in 2005. Comfortable triangular platforms located along the edges of the bridge provide places to rest. So that you can relax and appreciate the beauty of nature and the incredible display of engineering art.
7. The Langkawi sky bridge is safe, a lot of attention and care has been put into it to provide visitors with a psychological sense of safety. It includes double steel railings on the upper level as well as covered wire mesh.
8. It is dangerous to be on the bridge in bad weather, because it is very vulnerable to lightning strikes, so special escape routes for pedestrians are provided in case of a thunderstorm.
9. A cable car leads to the bridge, the ascent takes about 20 minutes.

11. The cable car station is located on the territory of the Oriental Village at the foot of the Machincang mountain and not far from the Pantai Kok beach on the island of Langkawi in the state of Kedah.
12. Almost every month the cable car is closed for a few days for scheduled maintenance.
