This year it coincides with the date of the murder of George Floyd and it was necessary to create a series dedicated to the oppression of the black population of the planet and its deliberate devaluation.
According to the creators of the "Equality Stamps", each copy has its own color, from almost white to black, and its own denomination. The darker the stamp, the cheaper it is and the more of them you need to stick on the mail to pay for the shipment. This should reflect the inequality created by racism.
The initiator of the action is the famous rap artist and public figure Domingo Antonio Edjang Moreno, who is better known under the pseudonym El Chojin. In Spain, this person has long been a living symbol of the fight against discrimination and a standard of racial activism. The musician called on all those who are not indifferent to the cause of equality to purchase "Equality Stamps" via the Internet and in the post offices of the country.
Not everyone liked this idea of drawing attention to the problem. The most radical fighters against racial oppression found the series of stamps offensive and provocative. In their opinion, this set once again reminds black people of the place in life that the white population of the planet gives them.
But it would be surprising if no one found even a little bit of racism in a good cause dealing with the issue of skin color in any way. In general, the action of the Spanish Post and rapper El Chojin was received positively by the progressive public and "Equality Stamps" are actively bought.
I wonder how the activists of the Black Lives Matter movement would perceive the initiative of a Russian who sews Floyds stuffed with foam rubber for sale?
