Nobuyoshi Araki was born in Tokyo in 1940, becoming the fifth child of seven in the family. At the university, he studied the art of photography and cinema, and then got a job as a photographer at the Dentsu advertising agency, where he met his future wife, Yoko Aoki. In 1971, the newlyweds went on a honeymoon, during which Araki became interested in intimate photography. Upon his return, he published the book "Sentimental Journey" and since then he prefers the genre of" personal " photography.
