Robert Doisneau (FR. Robert Doisneau 14 April 1912 — 1 April 1994) was a French photographer, master of French humanist photography. During his long life, Robert Doisneau did not fit into any of the styles, not created any artistic school. Doisneau was close to the surrealist, avant-garde, even dabbled in pictorialism.

His most famous frame "the Kiss at Hotel de Ville" (Le baiser de l'hôtel de ville), which shows the couple kissing on the background of Paris city hall. In 1984 Doisneau received the title of knight of the Legion of honour.

In 1950, he created the famous photographer's work, depicting the couple kissing amid the hustle and bustle of the city streets. She became one of the symbols of Paris. The names included in the accident was unknown until 1992.

Jean and Denise Lavergne were sure that they can. In the 80's, they set up a meeting with a photographer and his assistant Annette. But their opinion hasn't been verified, so as not to break the dream lovers. However, they calmed down and gave the photographer to the court for the use of their image, the copyright of which, under French law, belongs depicted.

The court Doisneau remained nothing how to tell who exactly was in the frame: françoise Delbart and Jacques Card — pair, which he saw kissing in the street, but he did not shoot for ethical reasons, and later offered to repeat the kiss for shooting. The court was won.

At the time of shooting françoise was 20 years old, Jacques — 23, they were beginning actors. In 2005 françoise recalled: "He said we looked charming, and offered to kiss one more time in front of the camera. We didn't mind. This was not our first kiss. We kissed all the time, it was very nice. Monsieur Doisneau was very nice, absolutely no arrogance, very simple."

They posed for him on the Concorde, Rue de Rivoli and opposite the town hall Hotel de Ville. The photo was published in a issue of Life magazine June 12, 1950. The relationship between the couple, however, lasted only nine months. Françoise continued her acting career, and Jacques became a winemaker.

Then, in 1950, françoise received the photographer of the original signature and seal as a reward for participation. Due to this fact later in the 90‑ies, Francoise could not sue the photographer for a big payout. However, in April 2005 this photograph brought her 155 thousand euros at auction Artcurial Briest-Poulain-Le Fur, and went undisclosed Swiss collector.
