Sarah Sands received a 7.5-year prison sentence for the murder of 77-year-old Michael Pleasted. In 2015, during a court hearing, it turned out that this man had committed 24 sexual crimes over a period of 30 years. The woman spent four years behind bars.

Now the 38-year-old mother of five children has been released. For the first time, she openly told why she decided to kill a pedophile neighbor. It turned out that the pervert also mocked her son. The woman says that she does not regret what she did and does not consider herself a murderer: she was just protecting her children.

Sarah stabbed a pensioner, coming to his house. At first, she tried to convince Plisted to confess to the crimes and surrender to the police, but he refused. Then, in a fit of anger, the British woman took out a knife that she had brought with her, and inflicted fatal blows on the pedophile.

Before that, the woman repeatedly appealed to the police, social services and local authorities. She reported that her neighbor was a pedophile rapist, but no one believed her. In February 2014, a neighbor offered Bradley, Sarah's 12-year-old son, a part-time job in a store. At first, the mother did not suspect anything wrong. Soon the teenager refused to go to work, and two weeks later the British woman learned that Plisteda was suspected of molesting two minors. The woman knew those boys and had no doubt that they were telling the truth. Her son said that the pervert did not harm him when he gave evidence to the police. The pedophile was found not guilty and released on bail.

Sarah was worried about her children, contacted the police, but they advised her to move, saying that they could not evict Plisted. Appeals to the social service did not help either.

In November 2014, Bradley confessed to his mother that a neighbor had raped him. The pedophile attacked him in the store, and then again, at his home. In September 2015, Sarah was accused of manslaughter due to loss of control over herself. During the court hearings, it turned out that Plisted raped children between 1971 and 1990. He changed his real name – Robin Mult - and disappeared from the sight of the authorities. The British woman did not know these details before she went to prison. The judge recognized the case as exceptional, sided with the woman and took into account the fact that the accused is a single mother. As a result, the sentence was reduced from 7 to 3.5 years. In 2016, the sentence was doubled, because the Court of Appeal found the sentence unreasonably lenient.

In total, the British woman spent four years behind bars. All this time, her children lived with their grandmother, they regularly visited and supported their mother. Sarah says that she was treated well and with understanding in prison. Many victims of violence wrote to her on social networks and said that she did the right thing. In April 2018, the woman was reunited with her family and started life from scratch.
