But, what really happened in their younger years? It turns out that the ancestors burned through life more abruptly than their offspring. This is evidenced by a selection of black-and-white photographs taken in nightclubs in New York in the 1970s. Alcohol, wild dancing, drugs — and this is not the whole list of entertainment for young people of that time.
Take a look at how those daredevils, who are now over the eighth decade, were having a good time.
New York of the 1970s is a storehouse of legends. Photographer Meryl Meisler has opened an exhibition of striking retro images that allow you to look at the entertainment of one of the most epic eras in the history of the city.
Everyone was having fun as much as they could, drugs, sex and dirty dancing were a daily routine in the central nightclubs of a huge city.
Indulging in white powder to get high was a common thing for that time. The photos were taken mainly in the legendary disco club "Studio 54", where the liberated youth aspired to get every evening. It became the main place of events that built that era. Music, dancing and a motley crowd created a real rattling mix.
The nightclubs of New York were always crowded.

The legendary time of those who knew how to have a good time passed half a century ago. Now these life-seekers have long passed 70, and some are not alive. But, fortunately, there are still pictures in which they will always be young, beautiful and full of energy. It's just a pity that it will be awkward for little grandchildren to show them.
