It included many rich, successful and famous people who blindly trusted Keith Raniere, the founder and leader of the cult.
One of the victims of the vicious society was the Canadian actress Sarah Edmondson, who was brought to life only by the touch of a hot iron to the body. She brought the pervert organizer to light and testified against him in court in July 2019. Find out what was going on inside the creepy sex cult NXIVM, from our material.
She was lying blindfolded on the table. Sarah Edmondson encouraged herself, waiting for the hot iron to touch her skin. The woman herself asked the sect leader to burn the initials on the body to prove her loyalty. A sudden pain shot through her bones. And it turned out that she was not ready for such an ordeal.
Popular actress from Canada became a victim of the American sex cult NXIVM, and the head of the sect, Keith Raniere, considered the girl his property. For refusing to comply, he threatened to publish photos and videos of pornographic content with her participation.
The burning of the brand brought Sarah to her senses. Two years after this terrible incident, the actress wrote the book "Branded" (Scarred), in which she told the terrible story of her stay in the NXIVM sect for 12 years. She managed to break out of this hellish circle, expose the cult leader and bring him to justice. In her memoir, the woman describes how the pervert Raniere built a pyramid sex cult with a strict hierarchy over 20 years. The sect organizer became so influential that his followers gave him millions of dollars.
Inside, there was a secret DOS community, which included a whole harem of women who were ready to fulfill all his sexual whims. If the girls did not want to do what the leader demanded, he punished them by locking them in a cage and forcing them to beat each other with belts. One Mexican woman spent two years in such a cage.
Sarah Edmondson was not a typical cult follower. She grew up in a loving family that always supported her. The girl was not a hippie or a seeker of the higher meaning of life when she first heard about NXIVM.
The actress starred in science fiction series, including "Stargate SG-1", but her career declined. Director Marc Vicente told her about the NXIVM cult, which already included several Hollywood celebrities. She hoped that joining the organization would help her get better roles.
At first, Sarah was not impressed by the homegrown psychology of "personal growth", especially after she paid about a thousand pounds (about 83,000 rubles) to participate in a 5-day seminar.
In July 2009, she created the In Canada, a branch of the cult, where she earned 14,000 pounds (about 1.2 million rubles) a month, training beginners.
In the organization, she met her future husband Anthony Ames, also an actor, and became best friends with Lauren Saltzman. It was Lauren who calmed her down when the actress heard gossip that older followers were missing or sick. As it turned out later, Saltzman had to draw Sarah deeper into Raniere's dangerous inner circle called DOS.
The leader of the sect carefully "processed" his sex slaves, first gaining their trust, and then offering to become their "mentor". He demanded that the girls follow a grueling diet, because he loved skinny girls, and recorded their most candid secrets on video.
After the ceremony, the actress was told to sign official documents about the right to transfer their house, in which they lived with Anthony and their son, to Raniere. The cult leader wanted to sleep with her, but Sarah rejected the harassment. The woman began to suspect that the "mentor" wanted to destroy her marriage in order to possess her completely. But the Canadian was not going to betray her family.
When the veil finally fell from her eyes, she turned to a friend, Marc Vicente, because she knew about his doubts about the ideas of the cult. He told her that if the women didn't agree to sleep with Raniere, he would use the tapes of their confessions against them. The friends went to the FBI together and helped destroy NXIVM.
The investigation revealed even more dirty details. Sarah found out what a vicious circle she was drawn into. During the court hearings in the Raniere case, it was proved that he had more than a hundred "slaves" under his command, including a 15-year-old girl. The leader of the sect asked followers to find young virgins in social networks.
The actress of the American TV series "Secrets of Smallville", Allison Mack, was accused of racketeering, and the owner of a whiskey conglomerate, Claire Bronfman, of harboring a foreigner and fraudulent use of personal data.
All the criminals, led by Raniere, are awaiting sentence for their misdeeds.
Sarah Edmondson believes that not all the terrible crimes committed in the name of the cult have been made public. After leaving NXIVM, she was so worried about her safety that she installed several additional locks on the house door. The actress suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and still feels guilty for unwittingly involving so many other people in the cult. She made sure that everyone she recruited stopped making contributions to the organization.
The Canadian woman calls for people not to join such sects, where they are brainwashed. There are still many trap groups in the world, involving thousands of members. No one has the right to control your desires and restrict your freedom for their own benefit. Anything that happens against your will is a crime, not a benefactor.
Some people become so obsessed with the idea of Doomsday that they spend their entire lives waiting for this fateful moment. The sects that united such madmen spread all over the world. The terrible rules that guided their leaders approved of violence, pedophilia, and even murder.
