By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/photos-of-incredible-tenderness-about-soviet-childhood-in-lithuania.htmlThis is a collection of frames from the recognized master of Soviet and Lithuanian photography Antanas Sutkus. The founder of the Lithuanian Photographic Art Union captured the everyday life of ordinary people living in Soviet Lithuania. Instead of filming exemplary citizens, propaganda somehow ordered, Sutkus broke all the rules and decided to document the lives of ordinary people.
A series of portraits entitled "People of Lithuania" reveals and demonstrates the love of these very people, especially children. Basically, Sutkus focuses on the younger generation, whose representatives the photographer tries to shoot the way they perceive our world.
Antanas Sutkus says that his childhood as a photographer is the most important source of inspiration for him. After all, children are sincere, natural and not fake creatures. They live without following our "adult" laws.
The collection includes photographs taken in the 1960s and 1970s. The portraits that were taken during a difficult period in the country still turned out to be very delicate and beautiful.
