The artist Bovey Lee continues the traditions of the Chinese art of "Jianzhi" - cutting patterns out of paper.

Bowie Lee was born in Hong Kong, now lives and works in the USA. Since childhood, she has been fond of Chinese calligraphy, painting and drawing. Studying the skills of an artist and digital art, she received two master's degrees. And now he devotes all his time to the painstaking and time-consuming work of cutting out the most complex patterns and entire paintings from snow-white rice paper. As a sample, the artist uses photographs, paintings from the Internet, illustrations from books and magazines. She puts the scanned template under a sheet of rice paper and carefully and painstakingly cuts out the image using a special knife with eleven blades.

Bowie Lee's work has great cultural value, as it revives and supports traditional Chinese craft, the technique of which is gradually disappearing in China itself.
