One life for two people without strain and tragedies: a happy Siamese twins

It was once believed that the birth of conjoined twins marks the imminent end of the world, so poor people, fused bodies, tried to sacrifice to the gods or just get rid of them. Later, the Siamese twins that cannot be separated, there was only one road — the circus to entertain the audience. But in spite of this, some couples are conjoined twins happily managed to live life.

Chang and eng were born 11 may 1811 in Siam, on the territory of modern Thailand. After the bunker brothers had become famous conjoined twins and started to call the Siamese. It should be noted that the king of Siam was so overwhelmed by the birth of Chang and eng that ordered them to kill the twins in order not to incur the trouble state. But mother refused to give their boys, and the order was never fulfilled.

While medical technology of the nineteenth century did not leave Chang and Angu no chance of separation: the brothers were TeraCopy (twins, conjoined at the chest), and the affected heart. Even with the current level of medicine the chances of survival when the separation is very small, and then it meant certain death. Therefore, Chang and eng were growing up as normal children — in fact, the choice they had.

When the brothers were teenagers, they were noticed by the British businessman Robert hunter and proposed Chang and Ango to perform in his circus, showing off my body and its abilities. It was a big risk, but hunter proved to be an honest man. The brothers toured the UK and US until they turned 21, and after the end of the contract with the hunter became rich.

Chang and eng were moved to the United States, took the surname bunker, has signed a contract with the famous circus Phineas Barnum and bought a farm. 13 APR 1843 took place double wedding: Chang and eng married to two sisters Adelaide and Sarah Anne Yates. In marriage, the Chang was born 10 children, and Enga — 11.

The brothers lived on his farm in the circle of loving family until his death in 1874: Chang contracted pneumonia and died in a few hours died and eng. He was 63 years old.

Sisters from Bohemia (now Czech Republic) was born in 1878. Divide sisters, conjoined at the pelvis, it is not possible. And after the civil war and the abolition of slavery Millie and Christine not just gained freedom and became quite wealthy and respectable ladies. Musical talent has allowed them to earn a comfortable life. At the age of 58 years, the sisters left the stage and then began Millie and Christine. They returned to North Carolina, bought a house in Columbus, and spent the rest of his days, taking a break from worries. They died at the age of 61 years.

Perhaps the most famous living conjoined twin sisters Abigail and Brittany Hensel from the United States. This is a rare case of survivors (and living a full life!) twins decafalon: the sisters for two, two head, one torso, two arms, two legs, and three of the lungs. Heart and stomach each their own, but the blood flow between them in common. Two of the spinal cord end in a basin, and all the organs below the waist they have in common. The girls have graduated from University with a degree in "teacher of mathematics", and each received a license. They got a job, but receive a salary of one for two.
